Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion - Very Dry to Dry Combination Skin

The first few days when I use this lotion, I can feel that my skin is very moisturized; however, my skin will start having problems after a few weeks-I will have little white bumps randomly popping up all over my face. I have tried the gel version and like it much, much more even though my skin is not considered oily at all (I'm a Type 2 Clinique person). Also, the Type 2 toner (Can't remember what it's called, but it's the purple one) can be very oil-stripping after a while. I actually use the mild clarifying lotion, which produces better results (even though I don't have sensitive skin). When I used to use Clinique, I realized after a while that it really was meant to be a 3-in-1 treatment. You have to use the face wash with the toner and the moisturizer to achieve the most benefits. The bar soap is the best (I use the mild version)--much better than the liquid soap, which makes my upper eyelids itch like no other. I have stopped using Clinique because I realize there are other, better alternatives. Department-store brands are not always worth the price you pay. A lot of times you can achieve the same results with store-brands as well (For example, I have switched to Purpose facewash and Dove sensitive skin lotion)

My mother used this every day when I was growing up and so I started using it sometime in highschool when I would have dry skin on my face or was peeling from sun exposure, etc. I don't have dry skin, but there are times when I need this lotion, mostly when it's really cold or when I've been out in the sun, but it works well under my makeup, it doesn't cause break outs, and it doesn't burn or have an odor. So, I'm definitely hooked on this stuff. Most lotions cause your face to break out, but I haven't found that to be the case with this one.

I have always had a bone to pick with facial moisturizers. I have really sensitive skin and I can't seem to find a moisturizer that gives me the right ammount of moisture without causing my skin to break out. My mom and I took a trip recently and my face was really dry and I didn't have any moisturizer with me, so I borrowed my mom's which happened to be clinique. I fell in love with it! It's such a light moisturizer, but got rid of my dryness problem. Best of all, no breakouts! I'm converted. This stuff is great for anyone who has moisturizer issues!

This is the only lotion for my face! I have tried many & this is what I will stick with.

I can't say enough good things about this facial lotion. I'd tried product after product looking for the perfect moisturizer for my skin. Everything else either made me break out, made my face look oily/shiny, or offered virtually no moisturization. I've been using this for years now and never had a problem. Foundation looks ten times better on my skin than it did. It's especially useful during the winter months when dry skin is a real problem.

Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion works great!

This is great when you want something that's light and doesn't really make your face oily. After trying out a massive amount (over $150 dollars over a period of 8 months and acne due to the allergies of some of drugstore brand moisturizers) I gave up because it was either too oily for my skin, or doesn't work well in the winter. So, I turned to Clinique...my last resort to balance my skin out after all those tryouts.

I went to the clinique counter and got my skin type and made my purchases online, but make sure that you get your skin type first...that way it works better on your skin.

this product was amazing, i followed it after the acne step 1&2 and it has counteracted beautifully the effects of the other products without leaving me with a greasy face. My skin has cleared up from barely 1 day of use!

I have a generous trial tube of this stuff and it doesn't work for me. On the back of the tube it says "For dry skin". My forehead, temples, and the sides of my nose get oily throughout the day and using this all over my face as a daily moisturizer made me REALLY oily after about 3 hours or less.

Sometimes I just use this for dry areas on my skin when I need to (cheeks, corners of mouth, lash line). Strangely, it makes those areas oily too so I just end up with an oily face, which doesn't happen with my Olay facial moisturizer for sensitive skin (loads cheaper I might add).

One other nitpick - this smells strangely. I have tried unscented lotions by Olay, Eucerin, and Vaseline and they don't smell as strong and plastic-y as this does.
This also has a similar smell as the Vaseline "intensive rescue moisture locking lotion unfragranced", which is thicker and white. I'm not saying these are the same, one's for face and the other's for body obviously, but they have the same effect of making my face oily so if the Vaseline brand lotion aforementioned makes your face very oily, the Clinique stuff won't work either, I think.

I was a little worried with the review that stated the customer received the smaller size-- nope--I got the 4.2oz Pump (just as pictured!). Love this lotion!
