My goal in life is to never buy overpriced cables. I figure that it
is a cable and how could it break. After all it just sits there
collecting dust. It's a digital signal going through glass/plastic
fiber, there will be no difference compared to the $450 dollar
AudioQuest class 5 optical cable - TosLink plugs 1m (3.28'). If you
bought this $450 cable, I cry for you.
The cable is your basic black color and it looks as nice as a cable can look. The cable is flexible and bendy just like a cable should be. It is long. The connection fits snugly from my Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K 7-Channel A/V Receiver (Black) to my ancient Philips DirecTV DVR With 40GB TIVO.
It comes in a nice cardboard box that is so simple to open. You can then toss the packaging into your recycle bin for recycling.

Anyone that it doesn't snap in is a dope like me6 people found this review helpful.
If it doesn't snap you probably forgot to take the little rubber
protectors off the end of the cable... like I did for about a
minute. Once removed it snaps in perfectly.
The cable is high quality, long, and very flexible and has nicely constructed connectors. And it is about 1/4 the cost of radio sxxxx and bsst buy, both being rip-off artists on items like cables.
Its things like this that will make me a prime return customer. Who can't wait 2 days to save big bucks??

These cables are pretty awesome.
Initial setup (who cares): The cable came in an easy to open cardboard box. The plastic tips needed to be removed but that hardly was an issue given I have opposable thumbs.
Sound quality: The quality of the sound was on par with some of the more expensive cables I've had previously. I didn't notice any interference and it sounded fairly clear.
In general there isn't too much to say about this product; either it works or it doesn't work. It works and I recommend it.

Doesnt "Snap" into place, and falls out easily10 people found this review helpful.
I had ordered two of these cables to hook up my computer to my AV
Receiver and another for the AV Receiver to the TV. I have used
other Amazonbasics cables before and they have been very high
quality so I thought that these would be very high quality as well.
I was sadly disapointed when I actually tried them out, they dont
"snap" into place like good optical cables do. At first I thought
that maybe it was the port that I was connecting it to or that I
wasnt pushing the cable in hard enough but after trying to push it
in harder, trying it on the port in back of the computer, tv, and
different ports on the receiver only to have the same thing happen
every time I came to the conclusion that these fall off very
easily. So I went online to read reviews on other optical cables,
watch installation videos on youtube, and forums to see if other
users have been having the same issues. It seems to be a very
common issue with cheap optical cables.
I would suggest going with the Cables to GO brand of Optical Cables if your looking for Optical Cables that snap into place and wont fall off easily. Their 9ft cable (3 meters) has model# 40392 and the 6ft cable (2 meters) has Model #40391.

These cables work fine.
Once you remove the sheild and get them firmly in place they stay seated just fine.
If you have never used optical cables but have equipment that supports them , you are in for a pleasant surprise
in quality and ease of use.

The cable did not snap into place on either the Dish Network
receiver or the Onkyo receiver. In fact, it was unusable on the
Onkyo receiver as it would push itself out within seconds of
establishing a connection. I am surprised that only one other
reviewer commented on this problem. I called regarding the
guarantee and was connected with a call center in China. They were
very accomodating, but I never received any follow up information
most likely due to lack of communication. Not worth pursuing a
return given the low price.

I ordered this cable to use with a new Roku HD Player and have been
pleased with everything about this purchase. The packaging was
quality and easy to open, the cable looks, feels, and has performed
with the highest level of quality. I have nothing but praise for
the Amazon Basics line as everything I've purchased from the line
has been completely satisfactory. The cable snapped in and locked
perfectly and I'm getting great sound.
If this sounds too enthusiastic to you, let me assure you I do not work for Amazon or any affiliate thereof and am nothing more than a satisfied customer.
I have also recently purchased the Gefen 5.1 digital to analog converter and ordered with it a 6 foot optical cable that was featured on the same page. When the cable came in it was the thinnest optical cable I had ever seen and came in a flat paper envelope that provided minimal protection. I'm happy to report that the cable was undamaged and seems to be working satisfactorily. Although that cable was cheaper, the huge difference in the appearance of quality of the product and the packaging is dramatic. I suppose that experience has encouraged my enthusiasm for the Amazon Basics product.
In the future I'll probably be more than willing to spend a few bucks more to get the Amazon Basics level of quality in product and packaging.

Absolutely no difference in sound quality when compared to similar
cables priced at $30 or more. It never ceases to amaze me that
people believe that there is a difference in sound quality when it
comes to fiber optic cables. A bitstream is a bitstream.. it cannot
be corrupted unlike copper wiring or wireless connections. You pay
$50, I'll pay $10, and we're both going to be listening to the same
5.1 channel bliss. :)
Btw.. the same goes for HDMI cables.. spend $5-$10..not $30-$100 for a 3-6' cable. There is no difference in quality.

Cable worked great connecting receiver and dvd player together.
These cables are expensive elsewhere. I don't notice any difference
between this one and Monster cables.

I looked at digital audio cables at numerous stores. The cheapest I
found was $15.00. I thought to myself that there had to be a
cheaper way, I then found this product. What a breath of fresh air.
Perfect price, perfect product, perfect packaging. I will never buy
